When the First World War (1914 - 1918) ended, 'The Dump' was bought by a group of businessmen, led by Sir Percival and Mr Noel Mobbs, for £7,000,000.
In May 1920 they formed the
Slough Trading Company. The Company started work on all the broken
vehicles, fixing and selling them until in 1924 all the vehicles were
gone.

The buildings that were left behind were then let to manufacturing companies. One of the first companies was Citroen Cars. Other included Johnson & Johnson, High Duty Alloys, the Mentholatum Company and Gillette. You can see a picture of the Gillette building below. The Trading Estate as we know it now was starting to take shape.
