Images
To find images relating to your search type the word “click” into the "search for" box along with your keyword e.g. “click farm”  (make sure "all search words" is selected)

Subject Categories
To search for all objects in a single category choose a category then type object in the "search for" box.

On-line Catalogue
A computerised collections catalogue was made available to museum visitors in October 2004, thanks to support from The Heritage Lottery Fund, Slough Social Fund, The Co-op, The Pilgrim Trust, SEMLAC and The People’s Purse, and we are now pleased to be able to provide an on-line version for you to search at home. This work is in progress so please bear with us whilst we upload the final pages. Currently categories A-C on the drop down menu are available to search.

Since 1986..
Slough Museum began collecting in 1986 and now has over 10,000 objects and photographs chronicling the development of Slough town and borough and the people who have found in Slough a place to live, work and enjoy life!

Search hints and tips
To start a search:
Enter one or more words in the ‘search for’ box and click ‘submit’
OR
to refine your search also click on the drop-down list to choose a category and click ‘submit’

Entering words in the ‘search for’ box:
If you are not sure of the correct spelling use * after the letters you are sure about or ? in between letters you are sure about eg:

Slough Sl* Sl?gh
Monument Monu* Mon*nt

This is particularly useful where words could have been spelt with our without an apostrophe eg:

Horlick’s/Horlicks Horlick*
Elliman’s/Ellimans Elliman*

Multiple word searches
If you have entered more than one word choose whether you want all the words to show up in a given record or any one of the words to show up in a given record by clicking on the correct ‘Match’ button eg:

Slough Estates Match all search words will only find items where ‘Slough’ and ‘Estates’ both show up in a given record

Slough Estates Match any search words will find items where either ‘Slough’ or ‘Estates’ show up

Search results
When you have entered one or more words in the ‘search for’ box and submitted your search you will see a list of hyperlinks to items that match your search. When you click on each of the links you will see the words you searched for highlighted in yellow.
