The Slough & District Civic Society was formed in Dec 1937 and became affiliated to the central Council of Civic Societies, until in 1957 it was transferred, along with other Civic Societies, to The Civic Trust.

All Civic Societies, or associations of Civic Societies, registered with The Civic Trust in the South East of England government region are members of the Civic Trust South East. It’s aim is, by positive engagement with its member societies, to promote The Civic Trust and, by working together at regional level, seek to inform and influence the improvement and regeneration of the environment for the benefit of the whole community.

It was established three years ago. Its executive committee is made up of two representatives from the Civic Societies or associations in each of the traditional county areas in the South East government region.

The Executive Committee meets not less than three times a year. Meetings are generally held in Central London.
